How it began

In May of 2016, I shared a video of my skill toy invention, ThumbChucks, on Instagram. They were well received by the EDC community at the time. Since then, I have continued to design new products for the EDC, knife, and skill toy communities. Despite being established within these niches, I’ve promised myself to never restrict my product offerings to exclusively fit these product groupings. Whatever interests me, I make it. And if it’s any good, I’ll make it available. With the success I found serving these communities coupled with my determination to create more products for all to enjoy, Jimpy Designs was born.

I’m on a mission

Whether it’s the products I design or the messages I convey through my work, I do it all for YOU. I strive to use my brand as a medium for putting out innovative/impactful products, fighting for consumer rights, and creating a group of like-minded individuals who will make a lasting impression on the world in a way only they can.

  • Products don’t need to be complicated to be good. Simplicity is sometimes just as difficult to incorporate into a good product as complexity. How so? Designing products with simplicity as a critical design decision creates challenges that can only be solved through unconventional design approaches. The goal is to achieve simplicity by means of which are different from what has been done. In other words, making simple different. And when this philosophy is successfully implemented into a design, it carries with it a very distinctive design language. This design language is what makes Jimpy Designs different from the rest. When innovation meets minimalism, it’s hard to do much better. Less is more.

  • It doesn't matter who did it first, but rather who does it better; a philosophy I have lived by since the beginning. We don’t need to see the same $h!t rehashed by several different brand. It happens all the time, and I refuse to operate on that level. I want every design I release to be innovative. If a product is innovative, it has a reason to exist. If a product has a reason to exist, by extension, it’s better.

  • Regardless of what project I’m working on, I always aim for the unobtainable standard of perfection. Nothing I do (or what anyone does for that matter), can truly be perfect, however, I still try. All products designed and launched under the Jimpy Designs brand are created with four goals in mind: aesthetics, performance, quality, and longevity. When you purchase a Jimpy Designs product, you can sleep well at night knowing that what you own will meet these criteria. No cutting corners. No deception. No tomfoolery. Only the best I can offer. Always and forever.

  • I pledge 100% honesty and transparency no matter the circumstance. Bring up any concern. Ask any question. I’ll address it truthfully. When I make a mistake or something does not go as planned (which happens from time to time), I make it known. I’ll never cover anything up. By owning up to my mistakes, I am able to rectify the situation. I’ll do right by myself and you. And again, I do what I do for YOU <3

  • Planned obsolescence, subscription-based products/services, non user-repairable products; they all plague a majority of the products we purchase today. I can’t stand it. No one likes it, but it’s difficult to avoid as a consumer. As a producer, I strive to avoid these consumer power-stripping practices when designing my products. Be assured that any Jimpy Designs product will last. I want my products to be repairable, built to last, and truly owned by YOU. I will do my part to put the power back in YOUR hands. Remember, I do what I do for you <3

  • Every brand has a community integrated with it. It’s up to the brand visionary to take that community and make it something special. I want our community to reflect what we stand for. [F.L.Y] means “free to live you”. It’s an acronym that emphasizes your freedom to make the best out of your life. Whether it be through personal development, overcoming obstacles, taking control over your surrounding environment, or some other life-improving pursuit, you are [F.L.Y]ing. I encourage everyone who is a part of this community to [F.L.Y] and teach others how to do the same. Together, we [F.L.Y] higher.
